How we work

Understand. Improve. Scale.

Experienced people working alongside founders and leadership teams. We do not begin with a pre-selected GTM project — the evidence decides what deserves attention first.

Understand

We build an evidence-based view of the commercial system, then form and test competing explanations for what is holding performance back.

ResultA clear view of where the biggest commercial leverage sits.

In practice

What working with Revenue Hunter actually looks like

This is not consulting delivered from a distance. We work inside the commercial reality of the business.

Depending on what the evidence shows, that can mean:

  • sitting in on pipeline and forecast reviews
  • reviewing live deals
  • listening to sales calls
  • interviewing customers
  • examining why the best customers bought
  • comparing wins and losses
  • challenging the ICP
  • rewriting positioning and messaging
  • working directly with founders on strategic opportunities
  • redesigning discovery
  • improving qualification
  • rebuilding CRM stage criteria
  • introducing buyer-state measures
  • testing pricing
  • designing outbound experiments
  • helping sales leadership inspect deals differently
  • coaching sellers
  • extracting founder selling judgment
  • improving forecasting
  • reviewing compensation or team structure
  • helping recruit or assess GTM talent
  • identifying GTM activity that should stop

The work follows the evidence.

We do not arrive with a pre-selected project and force the business into it.

If the biggest opportunity sits in pipeline creation, we work there. If it sits in conversion, we work there. If it sits in positioning, pricing, founder dependency, management, or buyer progression, we work there.

The objective is not to deliver a standard consulting package. It is to improve revenue performance.

Where leverage can sit

Revenue performance is a system.

A weakness anywhere in the chain reduces the output of the whole. Improving every part at once is expensive and usually unnecessary.

The commercial system
  1. Market
  2. ICP
  3. Problem
  4. Positioning
  5. Offer
  6. Demand
  7. Discovery
  8. Conversion
  9. Decision
  10. Execution
  11. Expansion

A weakness anywhere in this chain can reduce the output of the whole system. Improving every part at once is expensive, distracting and usually unnecessary.

01

Market

Is there sufficient demand and urgency to support the ambition?

02

ICP

Are we pursuing the customers most likely to buy and succeed?

03

Problem

Is the problem important enough to create action?

04

Positioning

Does the market understand why this matters?

05

Offer

Is the proposition compelling relative to the alternatives?

06

Demand

Are enough viable buying situations entering the system?

07

Discovery

Are we diagnosing buyers and establishing value accurately?

08

Conversion

Where are qualified opportunities leaking?

09

Decision

Are buyers actually progressing toward commitment?

10

Execution

Can the team reproduce what works?

11

Expansion

Does delivered value create retention and further revenue?

Buyer-centered GTM

Stage versus state

A sales stage records what your company did. Buyer state records what has become true for the buyer.

Stage

  • Discovery
  • Demo
  • Proposal
  • Negotiation

Where the opportunity sits in our process

State

  • Problem recognized
  • Cause understood
  • Impact accepted
  • Outcome desired
  • Solution logic understood
  • Confidence established
  • Commitment increasing

Where the buyer sits in their decision

This layer sits on top of your existing CRM and methodology — MEDDPICC, SPICED, Challenger or your own process — rather than replacing it.

Buyer progression

The next belief before the next action.

We work backward from what must become true for the buyer, rather than forward from what we would like them to do.

  1. 01 · Current belief

    “We need more leads.”

  2. 02 · Evidence

Best-fit opportunities convert strongly, but almost half the pipeline falls outside the real buying profile.

  3. 03 · New understanding

“Our issue may be targeting quality rather than lead quantity.”

  4. 04 · Buyer pull

Leadership wants to see where poor-fit pipeline is entering.

  5. 05 · Next action

Find where poor-fit pipeline is entering the system.

Where to start

An outside-in view usually comes first.

The Outside-In Revenue Review establishes where the biggest opportunity appears to sit, what supports that view, and what we would do about it over the next 90 days.

See What We'd Look At

Working together

What clients should expect from us

  • We will form an opinion.

We are not there simply to facilitate discussion.

  • We will show the reasoning.

Recommendations should be connected to evidence and a plausible causal mechanism.

  • We will challenge assumptions.

    Including ours.

  • We will work with the existing team.

The objective is not to create consulting theater around them.

  • We will get close to the commercial reality.

Calls, customers, pipeline, deals, data, behavior.

  • We will distinguish facts from hypotheses.

A confident hypothesis is still a hypothesis until the evidence supports it.

  • We will care about implementation.

The work matters only if behavior or commercial performance changes.

  • We will not optimize for keeping the engagement alive.

The business should keep using Revenue Hunter when Revenue Hunter remains useful.

Philosophy

A few things we believe

  • Diagnose before prescribing.

Selling a service before understanding the business creates predictable bias.

  • Revenue is a system.

Improving one local metric does not guarantee better commercial output.

  • Buyer progress matters more than seller activity.

A sales team can be extremely busy while buyers remain stationary.

  • The customer does not care about your sales process.

Your process should help them make a decision, not merely satisfy CRM administration.

  • More activity is not always better.

If activity flows into a constrained system, cost can increase faster than revenue.

  • Founder judgment is an asset.

It should be understood and distributed rather than simply replaced with process.

  • Good GTM strategy includes things you stop doing.

Attention is a scarce commercial resource.

  • Evidence beats certainty.

Strong operators should be willing to change their explanation when the evidence changes.

  • The right answer may be that you do not need us.

Credibility requires independence from the desired commercial outcome.

There is probably more revenue performance available.

The useful question is where.

An outside perspective can often identify assumptions, bottlenecks and opportunities that become difficult to see from inside the business.
